According to a press release from the state, this cohort is part of California’s multi-year goal to enhance law enforcement personnel across the state. The CHP reached its recruitment target of 1,000 new officers in November 2024.
Since 2019, California has increased investments in public safety, including funding for local law enforcement hiring and operational support. In 2023, the state's Real Public Safety Plan included increased funding aimed at addressing organized retail crime and expanding operations focused on criminal activity.
The CHP continues to recruit individuals interested in serving their communities through careers in law enforcement. To learn about joining the CHP, visit www.chpmadeformore.com.
